A public company - National E-Conveyancing Development Ltd (NECDL) - has been established to develop a national electronic conveyancing system which will ensure a uniform approach to conveyancing. Despite huge cost savings and benefits, the National Electronic Conveyancing Office has had trouble making sure every interested group - lawyers, states, conveyancers and bankers - agreed to the best approach. Another key issue is how to resolve the extent to which Victoria's already established infrastructure can be used to help create a new system that will satisfy all stakeholders.
